Well, this is a beginning....of my blog, but not my adventure! My adventures have been my lifetime, but this blog is meant to capture my latest phase. My retirement officially began in Feb 2013 when I left DuPont, in the same week that I bought my new home, the sailing vessel "Bette B." Technically, it was still "Second Wind" a 1983 Bayfield 40 which had been lovingly cared for by Ken and Donna for almost 2 decades. It was love at first sight the day I saw her on Thanksgiving week in 2012, and hopefully this blog will help my readers understand what remarkable vessel she is!
As part of the change in ownership I renamed the boat with my late Mother's nickname "Bette B." It was a powerfully moving day when I saw that name shining from the transom!
